Sip Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

🔒 Sip never transmits or shares any of your data. Everything stays on your device.

This Privacy Policy explains how EllaByte Ltd ("we", "us", "our") handles information in the Sip — Water Tracker app ("the app"), available on the Apple App Store. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

Who we are

EllaByte Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales. You can contact us at hello@ellabyte.com.

Data we collect

We do not transmit, share, or have access to any of your data. The app does not require you to create an account or log in. All data is stored locally on your device only using Apple's standard on-device storage (UserDefaults / Core Data).

Personal information stored on your device

To provide personalised hydration recommendations, Sip may ask you to enter:

This information is entirely optional — you can use the app without providing it. If entered, it is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to us or any third party. We have no way to access, read, or retrieve this data.

Other on-device data

The app also stores the following locally on your device:

None of this data ever leaves your device.

Notifications

Sip may request permission to send you local notifications to remind you to drink water throughout the day. These notifications are:

You can enable or disable notifications at any time in your iPhone's Settings → Notifications → Sip.

Third-party SDKs and analytics

Sip contains no third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or crash reporting tools. We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase, or any similar service within the app.

HealthKit

The current version of Sip does not use Apple HealthKit. If a future update integrates HealthKit, this policy will be updated before that version is released and you will always be asked for explicit permission before any HealthKit access occurs.

iCloud

The current version of Sip does not use iCloud sync. Your data remains on the device it was entered on. If iCloud sync is added in a future version, this policy will be updated accordingly.

Children's privacy

Sip is suitable for all ages. Because all data remains on-device and is never transmitted to us or any third party, the app complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent regulations.

Data retention and deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by deleting the app from your iPhone. Uninstalling the app removes all associated data permanently.

Your rights under UK GDPR

Because all data is stored on your device and is never transmitted to us, there is no data held by us for you to access, correct, or delete. You have full control over your data at all times through the app and by deleting the app. If you have any questions, please contact us at privacy@ellabyte.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, particularly if we add new features such as HealthKit or iCloud support. The date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
